Cigar Tour - 5 days
This
tour can be taken all year round. Cuba is a cigar aficionado's
paradise. Cigars are still made almost entirely by hand just as
they were 100 years ago. Our tours include visits to factories
to see all the processes of making a cigar. We visit the plantations
near Pinar del Rio in the beautiful Vinales valley which has some
of the most majestic landscapes in Cuba. There is ample opportunity
to purchase cigars with expert guidance if required. Cigar tastings
and dinners are also arranged in elegant surroundings. Whenever
we get the possibility, we try to meet the most famous tobacco
grower in Cuba, Don Alejandro Robaina, at his quinta in San Luis.
Our cigar tours include some special aged Havana cigars and plenty of Havana rum.
The prices quoted are based upon a minimum of 4 people. Please enquire for smaller groups. The tours can run at any time.

Day 1
|
Arrive
at Havana airport, transfer to your hotel. Dinner at a typical Cuban
restaurant in old Havana. A resident band plays music to the old
songs of Beni More. Check into the classic Nacional Hotel with pool,
gardens overlooking the sea and great bars. |

Day 2
|
Breakfast
followed by a tour of the Partagas cigar factory . Cocktail and
cigar in the VIP room.
Lunch
in the courtyard of La Mina restaurant followed by afternoon walking
guided tour of old Havana. We also visit the outside of the H.
Upmann and Romeo & Julieta factories (visit shop).
Free evening (suggestions available for dinner and/or nightlife (Tropicana cabaret, salsa nightclubs etc). |

Day 3
|
Breakfast.
Departure
to tobacco plantations in Vuelta Abajo region of Pinar del Rio
state with lunch included. Then tour the Vinales area with its
fantastic landscapes. Return to Havana.

Day 4
|
Breakfast.
Free
day to explore the city, buy cigars (plenty of advice here) and
souvenirs. Options include deep- sea fishing, a trip to the beach
or a visit to Hemingway's house on the edge of Havana.
Dinner
at the famous private restaurant, La Guarida (scene of film 'Strawberries
& Chocolate') with tasting of cigars.

|
Breakfast. Free morning.
Transfer to airport for your connecting flight home or:
You
may extend this holiday or add on another tour if you wish. Please
contact us. You could add in some deep-sea or bonefishing, golf
in Varadero etc.
