Fishing Trips - Tarpon, Snook & Jacks

Another exciting new destination in a pristine wilderness - Cayo Las Brujas, Inshore fishing off Cuba's north coast, for BIG Tarpon, Snook and a variety of the Jack Family.

We have been fortunate to obtain another contract for a new fishing site located east of Havana on Cuba's north coast. Guests will stay at the beautiful Hotel Villa Las Brujas, situated right on the beach. The adjacent marina houses the small fleet of boats which give fishing access to the surrounding area.

The Fishing
There are 4 Price-Craft 16 boats at the new site powered by 25HP Yamaha outboards, complete with conventional tackle, giving anglers access to the extensive area adjacent to the hotel. The guides are all English speaking and experienced with both conventional gear and fly fishing.

There is the opportunity to target the myriad of fish species found in the channels and reefs a short distance offshore. Prime time for Tarpon is August - November.

The Fish

Tarpon, up to 120 lbs +, are one of the primary target species at this site. Combine this with other species such as Snook to 30lbs, Jack Crevalle to 30lbs, Barracuda, Dorado, Albacore, Sierra Mackerel, and an assortment of other species in the Jack family such as Horse-eye Jacks, Amberjacks, Pargo, Cubera Snappers & Red Snappers, give the angler a wide variety of different species to catch. Tarpon, Snook and Jacks can be pursued with a fly rod while conventional stand up gear can be used for fishing the reefs or trolling for Barracuda, Mackerel and Snappers.
